Exercise Orientations
All Gold members are entitled to an exercise orientation with one of our certified fitness staff. Members receive an individualized workout program. Make an appointment at the Fitness Center Desk, 897-0143, ext. 156.

Fitness Testing
This testing will provide you with information that can give you a better understanding of where you begin an exercise program and the improvements you make over time. The scale is not the only place results can be seen. We perform body fat tests, measurement of inches, strength and flexibility tests along with cardiovascular evaluations. You receive a complete printout of results and rankings. Contact Katie Kiefer, Uptown Fitness Director at (504) 897-0143 ext. 164 or by email for more information or to set up an appointment. (Included in one-on-one training)

Personal Fitness Training
Make tremendous fitness improvements! Let a one-on-one trainer/ coach provide you with the proper instruction and motivation necessary to reach your fitness and athletic goals. Body Fat testing included. Your trainer will ensure maximum results. Each training session is one hour.

Racquetball
Two courts, Uptown are available to Gold Members. Reservation must be made in advance at Fitness Desk.

Aerobic Activity
Aerobic exercise conditions the heart and lungs by increasing oxygen available in the body and thereby enabling the heart to use oxygen more efficiently. Additional benefits of Aerobic exercise includes:
• Control of body fat with a proper diet
• Less fatigue
• Increased energy
• Increased muscle tone and lean body mass
• Decreased stress/tension
• Effective sleeping patterns
• Increased general stamina

Exercise Orientations
Have you ever walked into a fitness center and felt totally lost? With our exercise orientation we will help you find your way. An exercise orientation consists 45 minutes to one hour with a certified fitness instructor helping you to map out a beginner plan or tune up an old plan. Don?t hesitate, your exercise orientation is free with your Metairie Gold Membership!
